One ordinary Monday I was contacted by my boss, who asked me if I could go to New Zeeland to help them there with a business opportunity.

The next day I got the ticket, packed my bags and on the Wednesday (just two days later!) I was on a flight towards first Bangkok, then Singapore and Brisbane, to finally end up in Auckland, New Zeeland several hours later.

I was away for a whole month on this pretty unplanned trip and got the possibility to see quite a bit of New Zeeland, some of Australia and a quick little tour in Singapore.

As I today look back on this adventure, I do recommend everybody that gets the chance to visit New Zeeland, it’s a truly beautiful island, it’s not especially big, but with so much variation, and around each and every corner there is a new surprise for you.

I drove to the black beach (black sand from lava) and on the way to there stopped in the middle of the jungle, what a difference from our forests, so much noises. If I would have continued driving southwards for one day there would have suddenly been snowy mountain tops instead, what a variation from the hot jungle!

On another little tour I visited hot wells and a geyser that shot steam and hot water straight up into the air, breathtaking to experience one of the wonders of our world.
