Rome is one of those few places where you truly feel history under each footstep, a sort of scary experience to realize how somethings are timeless and others are gone so quickly.

The S:t Peters Church in the Vatican should be "a must" on the to visit list for everybody, it's grandness and seriousness is unbeatable, regardless if your Catholic or not. And yes, to smuggle in a little empty bottle to "borrow" the holiest water there makes you feel like you are in touch with something.
There's no limit on what to see, well dressed people, ruins, food culture, history, sixtinth chapel, the book of the dead, catacombs...
