I don't remember the first time as I saw
it. Most probable because I was quite young at the time. What I do remember is the scene
as they try to capture the horse, the desperation of failure between the characters.
I do think this is Marilyn Monroe's best role, maybe because she
finally got the chance to show a deeper role to her audience, insteed of the simple
comedies that she's generally connected with.
Today this is a movie that for me visualizes the miserable feeling
of failure. None of the characters really knows what to do with their lives, and they
also know deep in their hearts that there is no point even to try to do anything, since
failure is so eminent. |
