This was one of the first Peter Greenaway
movies that I've seen, and I have to say that it's still my favourite. The playfulness with colors,
angles, long cuts... and not to forget the absurd characters and their reckless actions.
One could almost say that this is one of the more realistic movies ever made,
cause nothing makes sense in regards to what/how the people act (as in real-life).
The music in the movie is enchanting, and sometimes it feels like it must have
taken a decade to make (maybe it did?).
Without mention of it, the movie gives hints about the seven deadly sins all
through it. I wonder if that was ever thought about in the script. |
