The old and the new...

Berlin is one of the strangest cities in Europe in my opinion, not so much because of it's history, but because of how it looks like today, big spaces with nothing in this geographically large city, old areas, new areas, western vs. eastern architecture and style, poor and rich. No where to be found is anything giving you any sense of how it will look like tomorrow, just a blur of mixtures.

The people that I met living there had no future and yet they where living for the future in the now, hard to explain, except it did explain why really successful people, without reasons do drugs, not to calm down or speed up, but because they don't know where to

go from here, they have it all, and yet they have nothing, and it hides their lostness.

I haven't seen more miserable people anywhere on our planet in a successful country then here, in Berlin. Sure you can find them in big numbers too in America, but there it's brought along with criminality a poorness, here it's just plain a state of mind.

A winner brings with it a looser, feeding on it, and it appears to be unavoidable in all types of society, the alternative (like the Swedish model) kills the soul of the winner and forces them abroad.

The number one symbol of Berlin for me...
